What is 9CAT and 9COM in Saudi Aramco..?
9COM – Saudi Aramco’s material classification system that describes a commodity or a class of materials, but not a specific item.
9CAT – Specific items whose descriptions are maintained by Saudi Aramco catalogue.
Difference between 9CAT and 9COM:
Catalogued items (9CAT) have a standard description maintained centrally. General Commodity materials (9COM) require suppliers to upload/add their catalogue details through SSS, which enables these items to be subject to enrichment and buyer approval.
